PlanGrid's purpose is to make it easy for construction teams to organize projects, share ideas, bring up issues and much more. The software provides a wide range of useful features for everyone. From publishing and reviewing plans to completing a project, everything can be done on the fly, without any kind of difficulties.

The software is free to try, without any significant restrictions. It comes in a small package and it can be installed fairly fast. There are no special requirements you have to meet and you don't need powerful hardware. The software works on all modern Windows platforms and it supports both 32 and 64-bit versions.

While PlanGrid isn't for drawing blueprints, the software is perfect for making them available to a team and for making all sorts of annotations, raising issues and keeping in constant touch with co-workers. You can create projects and upload your plans on a web interface, after creating and logging into an online account. Everything you upload will immediately appear on the desktop interface.

There are various things you can do while viewing a plan on the desktop interface. You can make all sorts of annotations, either by inserting a shape or by simply drawing freely with the mouse cursor and insert other markup elements. What's more, each element can be inserted on its own layer and published to the project separately, so you can make sure your annotations are relevant before updating the plans and letting others see the annotations. Another useful feature is the possibility of comparing plans by superimposing them.

Once you publish an annotation, the plans will be updated for all other users, who can view them on their own computers or mobile devices. You can allow other people to join your PlanGrid network by sending them email invitations. Additionally, the software lets you set up permissions for each user, so you can decide what they are allowed to do.

Besides drawing or adding text, users can also add various issue symbols. The issues you mark on a plan will appear in a dedicated section of the main interface for all users to see, so there is no need to speak with each person to let them know about the issue.

There is much you can do with PlanGrid when it comes to working with a team on construction plans. The main advantage is that team members can stay in touch constantly, updating each other on the construction progress.

Cons:
There are no obvious drawbacks to mention.

Pros

You can add various independent markings and update construction plans for all users, via the cloud. The software's controls are really easy to learn. You can invite other users to your network and set up permissions.

Cons

truction teams can be significantly more efficient thanks to PlanGrid's smart functionality and to its modern and elegant design.
